I study how fire, climate, and plant traits interact to shape the resilience of fire-prone biodiversity under global change. My research spans Mediterranean shrublands, tropical Andean páramo grasslands, and deserts, ecosystems that range from fire-adapted to those where fire now acts as a novel disturbance.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center for Data Science & Environment at UC Berkeley, where I model post-fire recovery and work with the National Park Service to translate ecological research into tools for climate adaptation.
